My WEN Experience: Part I
It seems that every time I compliment a friend on her gorgeous, soft locks, she says, “Thanks! It’s WEN!” Everybody seems to be using WEN, the cleansing conditioner created by hairstylist Chaz Dean. You may have seen the commercials with Alyssa Milano. I probably would not have been that inclined to order the product, but so many people I know are using it, and I have seen their results. I am on a never-ending quest for longer, healthier hair, so any product that comes so highly recommended is one I need to try!
The caveat of WEN is that the cleanser is pretty pricey, usually $30-$40+ for the cleansing conditioner (which acts as your shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner all in one). I have been holding out for a good deal or some kind of discount to get it. The WEN website is having an incredible deal right now where you get the cleanser with a bonus travel kit, along with other bonus goods for only $29.99, AND on top of everything, free shipping! I knew now was the time to try it!
I just got my kit in the mail. If you order this deal, beware of the fine print: they automatically sign your account and card up to automail you a much bigger, more expensive, regular supply starting the following month unless you call to cancel, which obviously I did.
The kit came beautifully packaged. I could not believe how much product I received. I was afraid because it was a bonus that they would cheap out on the travel size, or maybe not give me the full size of the Cleansing Conditioner. I was pleasantly surprised!
In the kit (again $29.99 and free shipping) I received: one full size Cleansing Conditioner, one anti-frizz styling cream, one replenishing treatment mist, two travel size Cleansing Conditioner, and an Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Treatment which you add to the Cleansing Conditioner. So far I have tried it once (I just got out of the shower after using it to write this blog.) You use a few pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as kind of a shampoo on your scalp, then rinse, put more in towards the bottom of your hair like you would conditioner, then rinse thoroughly, and then put a little at the ends as a leave-in when you get out of the shower. The WEN conditioner does not lather, which I thought would be strange, but it’s just like using conditioner, it is very rich and creamy. I was afraid my hair would have that feeling like when don’t rinse enough of your conditioner out, but so far it just feels very nice, soft, and clean.
I am looking for major results, so keep checking back on this blog in the coming weeks for longer-term results. I was told it would take about a month to really start seeing some positive changes in hair quality and length. I’ll keep you posted!
