Museum Exhibits To See This Fall
From Philadelphia to Monaco: GRACE KELLY at the Michener Museum- I read about this exhibit months ago in a magazine and have saved up the information all this time! There are few things that I love more than Hollywood glam. It pretty much does not get any better than an American movie star turned European Princess, does it? This exhibit at the Michener Museum in Doylestown Pennsylvania just opened in October and will run until January. The exhibit features fashion, memorabilia, old letters, as well as personal artifacts of the late Grace Kelly. They will also be screening her films on different days throughout the week. I am hoping to catch this exhibit this weekend! For more info check out: http://www.michenermuseum.org/exhibition/from-philadelphia-to-monaco-grace-kelly-beyond-the-icon
The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From Sidewalk to Catwalk- The Brooklyn Museum is featuring an exhibit on couturier Jean Paul Gaultier from now until February 23. The exhibit will explore the influences of Gaultier’s lengthy career at the helm of fashion and feature different clothing from his countless collections. Gaultier has been breaking the rules of fashion (cone bra, anyone?) since the 1970s and this installation is one you won’t want to miss!
I Who Have Arrived In Heaven, Yayoi Kusama- Yayoi Kusama is a revolutionary Japanese artist who is responsible for some of the most psychedelic avant-garde work this side of the 21st century. Kusama has been painting with various mediums since the 1950s. If you are more into fashion than art you may remember her collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton! Her exhibit at the David Zwirner gallery in Manhattan will feature over 25 works including an infinity room made of mirrors. The pictures of her work are unbelievable and I am really excited to see this exhibit. I Who Have Arrived In Heaven will run until December 21st. http://www.davidzwirner.com/exhibition/yayoi-kusama-9/
