Fashion Friday: New York Fashion Week Favorites

“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future…this is known as Fashion Week.” – Sex and the City says it all!! While I am not fancy enough to actually attend Fashion Week as a guest yet, I still look forward to the endless photos, articles, and internet streaming of new collections emerging every year. Now that the Fashion Week gods are headed to Europe for some couture, I figured I would round up some of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week.

I do not own these images.

Remember in Mad Men when Betty and Don go to Rome? That was all I could think of. Dying !

I am becoming a huge Kate Spade convert. Kate Spade does a presentation every year, and this one knocked my designer socks off! The theme was a retro woman summering in Europe, and I drooled after every single piece. If I could have my entire closet devoted to one designer, I am thinking it would be Kate Spade! The hot pinks, bright yellows, I just could not get enough.

Dying over these gigantic blond buns!

Now for something COMPLETELY different, I loved The Blonds Spring 2014 show. They are always one to watch, and I was just dying over the giant orb-like buns coming down the runway. Their shows are always interesting, unique, and this year they took a futuristic bejeweled spin. The new cover of Britney Spear’s single “Work Bitch” features a look seen at this runway show, and Beyonce has been wearing the Blonds all year on her new tour.

Living for it!

They are not exactly known for their everyday wear, but the leotards are a pop star’s dream!

Marchesa has long been a favorite of mine…so dreamy…

For the more extravagant ball gown shows, I always look to Marchesa to see what magical dream they have conjured up next. If I were to walk a red carpet ever in my life, it would be in Marchesa. This season Marchesa’s show was slightly more relaxed and harkened back to the 1920s.

Many pieces were so sheer and silky they resembled lingerie. Of course I adored every single piece.

How amaze is this?

Lastly, I don’t usually keep an eye out for his show, but I was really loving Zac Posen’s collection! Known for his structure and tailoring, I thought his collection had such an extra elegant twist this year. He managed to put a very modern spin on retro silhouettes and I thought it was very refreshing! And although this was a post about dresses that I loved so I will keep this short and sweet, I hated the Marc Jacobs show.

Marchesa Spring 2014

I am definitely excited to see what Paris has in store for us next week! What were some of your favorite collections for this Spring?
