Fashion Friday: Dressing Up a Maxi

The great thing about a maxi dress is that you can dress it up or dress it down. This TJ Max Maxi appealed to me because of its rocker chic edge but also the unique cut. There is a slit half way up the front that adds quite a bit of sass to the look. I have already worn this dress several times with sandals on casual days, but here I really wanted to glam it up.

I paired this look with a gladiator-inspired metallic heel that went perfectly with the dark gray tones in the dress. I felt drawn to this dress also because of the unique tie dye print. It’s hard to make glam tie-dye, but this dress did it perfectly.

You can shop for Hamsa bracelets and other amazing gems at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Charolastras

For accessories I used a simple black patent leather New York and Company clutch and kept the jewelry simple with a dainty Las Charolastras hamsa bracelet made by my favorite etsy jeweler. The print of the dress combined with the lace and the slit called for minimal accessories.

I wore this out for an evening with friends making fish tacos and drinking some refreshing summer beverages- it doesn’t get any more summery than that!
