Missing Taiwan

Anthony Bourdain has a new show called “The Layover”, and recently they did an episode of Taiwan. The episode was really neat, and featured many sites I saw when I was there, such as Shi Lin Night Market and a tea house in Maokong.

Taiwan is so beautiful!

My two and a half week trip to Taiwan to visit my boyfriend’s family was the trip that initially launched this blog! It was the final push I needed to start chronicling all my travels.

Anthony Bourdain went to this tea house in Maokong that you have to take a bus or gondola to get to because it’s on the top of a mountain!

Shi Lin Night Market happened to be having a festival when I was there- such is my life!

I enjoyed my time in Taiwan so much, I definitely cannot wait to go back. My time was spent in the big city Taipei in northern Taiwan, and I would love to see what the rest of the country looks like. I probably have a soft spot in my heart for Taiwan because my boyfriend is from there, but also because it was my first time in Asia.

All I did was eat in Taiwan and it was awesome!

Boyfriend pounding a giant drum at a temple!

Since then I have been to Tokyo, but I felt that city was missing the sweet heart of Taipei, not to mention the incredibly cheap food.

At Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, also featured on Anthony Bourdain’s show ‘Layover’

One day I am sure I will return to Taiwan! Until then I will reminisce about all the amazing food I ate and my first exotic travel experience.
