Summer Came Like Cinnamon…So Sweet

I always think of this line from one of my favorite Corrine Bailey Rae songs when I start anticipating the sweet relief that summer brings. This summer, working for a freelance web designer, I am especially free-wheeling, just blowing around like a tumbleweed in the wind! Rigid structure is sort of my thing, so I am trying to embrace the beautiful summer freedom I have been given.

So far, after wading through the dark of finals and stress, I have come out joyous on the other side! I have been spending my days shopping, catching up with friends, and bar hopping in New York city, just a few of my favorite things!

I most want to spend my summer lying on a beach, even if it is just the Jersey Shore. And no, dear readers from other corners of the world, not ALL of New Jersey, not even ALL of the shore is like the fist-pumping guido ridden Seaside Heights featured on the show, Jersey Shore. If I did want to have a run in with a Snooki-look-alike, it would happen at Seaside Heights, where a lot of the show takes place, but otherwise I like to spend my days reading trashy novels on the more subdued New Jersey beaches of Manasquan, Bradley beach, and Spring Lake.

My summer style is going to be a hat (sun protection is important, ladies and gents!!), a summer maxi of some kind, and a ton of bangles. I only have one trip for the whole summer planned, which will be revealed very soon…!

Basically, I’m looking for a lot of sunscreen-situations, braids (to keep a messy salt water hair mess under control), some flavored ice tea, and a maxi, all summer long.
