This week I had the privilege of being asked/suggested/whatever to participate in a link up with my friend Sarah at 90 Percent Blonde! I have never participated in a link up before, and god bless Sarah for putting up with all of my million questions! Sarah is newly engaged, so the theme of her link up is Wedding Wednesday!
I thiiiiiink here’s the part where I mention all the amazing things I have thought of for my someday future imaginary wedding? In the interest of full disclosure on this blog….I have to confess something. In the words of the great Carrie Bradshaw, I think I was born without the bride gene.
Do you remember the episode of Sex and the City when Miranda and Carrie try on terrible tacky wedding dresses, and Carrie starts choking and breaking out into hives? That’s sort of how I feel about marriage! haha I’m fine with long term commitment- Goldie and Kurt, Brangelina, seriously, monogamy, I’m all in! I’m just missing the bride function in my brain.
We could crawl around for years inside my brain and possibly never find out why that is, but as for right now, I just don’t think it’s for me! I am totally unopposed to other’s getting married, weddings are often a blast! So for my Wedding Wednesday, I will share some of my favorite celebrity wedding moments that I won’t soon forget!
Katherine Heigl’s wedding scene is the only super memorable wedding spread in a magazine that has stuck out in my mind as an atmosphere I loved. Heigl had a beautiful winter wedding in the moutains. Her flowers were yellow with a lot of white and sparkle everywhere. The whole affair seemed very intimate, but modern.
Furthermore, the only wedding-related thing I have EVER cut out of a magazine or saved on a computer with myself in mind was the wedding dress worn by Katherine McPhee in 2008. The lace killed me!! I love the endless layers of lace on the bottom.
That’s literally it. Oh, and in true Blair Waldorf fashion, I LOVE peonies. That’s not really a wedding-thing, but if I did have a wedding, peonies would be errrwhere! What a fragrant gorgeous flower!
I just don’t think it’s for me. As Oprah says, if I ever think I might need a wedding I will just put on a nice dress and eat some cake! I would still, however, like a GIANT diamond ring someday. Not as in, be engaged, but as in, own a giant diamond ring. I don’t see why you have to get married to get those goods! Diamonds don’t discriminate!
Also, on this Wedding Wednesday, I would like to mention I am one kick ass Maid of Honor, currently serving my second term! I looked FIERCE in my friend Kerri’s wedding this past October, and was ready at a moment’s notice with scissors, fashion tape, a sewing kit, and all necessary emergency supplies! My best friend Amelia, is getting married in 2013, and I can’t wait to share in all the fun, fabulous details of a day that means so much to her!
