Affordable Fashion Friday: Nicole Ritchie’s Look For Less!

This spring I am absolutely working on my style, and I want to share that with all of you!! I will be doing many more affordable fashions, and the look for less!! If you read the Fashion Friday 2 weeks ago, Affordable Spring Finds, I have already started compiling looks for this spring. This week, I took a request from a friend to take some style-inspiration from Nicole Richie, and do a Richie-inspired Look For Less! I think this is a great idea, and I’m happy to bring it to you!!

Nicole is obviously the goddess of hippie chic. Girlfriend has gone from sidekick to main attraction in a few short years, and has become a staple in the style world. To tell you the truth, Nicole’s ethereal look isn’t that hard to achieve!! All you need is some floral print maxi dresses (super easy to find since they are VERY on trend this season) and some boho chic tops, and you will be on your way!! Everything I featured in these posts are online right now and ready for purchase!

For a floral maxi, Forever 21, Old Navy, and Kohl’s all have some really great options for spring. All of these dresses are under $40.00 at Old Navy and Kohl’s, the shoes and belts are from Old Navy. What’s important for a maxi is the fit, and if you aren’t going for the caftan look (which I love), then grab a belt to cinch the waist. We all know Nicole is famous for those headbands, so pick up a cheap braided one at Forever 21, add some beach waves, and we’re in business!

I always find that part of the flair of the boho chic is the mixing of prints, textures, and accessories. In the words of the great Rachel Zoe, more is more, and I find that particularly true of boho chic. Add a belt, layer some jewelry, and a headband! Go for it all, it all works, I mean look at this picture, headpiece, bracelet, belt, several necklaces, arm cuff. The best hippies, a la Nicole, always look like they fell into a 1960s clothing trunk, and emerged looking like a goddess out of an art nouveau painting! All of these items are available for a super affordable price at Old Navy, and all the accessories are from Forever 21!

If you’re not into dresses so much, a great floral blouse with some shorts is a great look for spring and summer!! I like gold jewelry for boho chic, personally, I don’t know where I get the association from, but bohemia says gold to me. Layer some cute dainty gold necklaces together (you can score big time at Forever 21 for dainty cheap gold necklaces with cute pendants), or a nice long layered necklace, perhaps with a big chunky stone or something fab on the end! I love texture for a bohemian look, a nice earthy stone will really pop! Pair both looks with a nice leather sandal and you are good to go my friend! It’s all about being earthy!!

Here is how I interpreted my Look for Less of the week- the top was on clearance at Old Navy, I can’t wait to rock it!! Check back next Friday for pictures on how I worked this great piece into my wardrobe!

Go forth and get your goddess on! Nicole Richie and I believe in you!
