Greetings From the South West!
Las Vegas has been absolutely beautiful, 70 degree weather every single day, and pretty much the same in Arizona! We arrived in Las Vegas a week ago in the morning, and were ready to start exploring as soon as we landed!! The last time I was in Las Vegas, we stayed at the Bellagio, but this time around, we chose the Paris. The Paris certainly had more affordable options and it took a lot less time to get around, however, I still like the grandeur of the Bellagio–I still think it’s the best!
Our view at the Paris hotel was siiiiickkk. We totally lucked out. Out of one window we had the view of the pool, Paris balloon, and a full view of the Eiffel Tower, and out of another window we had the view of the Bellagio Fountains. At night they go off to music and lights every fifteen minutes, and sitting in bed watching that is the portrait of magic!
Our first day in Vegas was totally spent exploring–we had no time to waste!! We headed down the side of the strip that we didn’t make it to last time, the end with MGM, Excalibur, the Luxor, and Mandalay Bay.
MGM is SO much fun, and their lion habitat is awesome!! They had two lions that we took a million pictures of, who at first were cuddling, which made for excellent pictures.
Then we realized you can walk into the habitat, and you can walk underneath a glass roof that the lions walk on–so COOL! I was lucky enough to be under this glass roof when the lion was sleeping on it, which was a really awesome experience. Their paws are gigantic! I know thats really nerdy, but it was a big highlight for me.
MGM is absolutely huge, and you could be lost in there for days. They have a ton of great restaurants with ambiance, a huge casino, and the CSI experience, there are just a ton of things to do. Other than that…I really wasn’t impressed with that end of the strip!
Excalibur has a really cool castle exterior that makes for some photo ops, but as soon as we approached the casino we were being harassed to buy a time share, I hate those people! Nothing turns me off more, and we turned around and left immediately.
Do you find that side of the strip interesting? Did I miss something awesome after MGM? Let me know!!
