Critics and People’s Choice Award Fashions!!
Sorry for such a late Fashion Friday Post- I got all mixed up coming back to the East Coast!!! Now that i’m home in front of the laptop tippitytyping away about my Arizona trip, let’s take a moment to review the week’s fashion hits and misses to gear us up for the long awaited GOLDEN GLOBES!!!!
I plan on attempting to live tweet the fashion coming down the red carpet, so make sure you’re following me @FerociaFatale
There were two award shows recently that nobody cares about- The People’s Choice Awards and the Critic’s Choice Awards. You can tell nobody cares about them because Adam Sandler won Best Male Comedy Actor during the People’s Choice Awards beating out geniuses like Steve Carrell and half the Hangover cast. We all know Sandler hasn’t put out anything funny since about 1995, so, there you have it. HOWEVER! We do get some fab fashion out of the deal, a little red carpet warm up! Here’s the best and worst of it–
My absolute favorite from the People’s Choice Awards was Vanessa Hudgens, surprisingly. I wouldn’t call her a fashionista, but I was all over her look like white on rice! I thought it was sassy, fun, and age/location appropriate. The gold sequinn detailing on her Jenny Packham dress was to die!! LOVED!!!
As you may know from previous posts, my pet-peeve is when people over or under dress for the occasion. People’s Choice=casual chic, party dress. Oscar’s=dramadramadramagown. What’s so hard about it? That being said, Demi Lovato in Marchesa wins my award for Most Over Dressed. GIRLFREN DIS AIN’T DA GRAMMYS. Cut that dress in half and you would have been fine. Also, i’m kind of over her and her story of triumph, is that mean? Oh well.
Other looks from that night that I enjoyed was Nina Dobrev, she looked sassy, young, and fun, and I loved the lace detail on the shoulders! Green is such an underrated color- it looked awesome on her!
I really loved Lea Michele’s dress, but HATE the way she styled it. The hair drove me crazy, and the lipstick was wayyyy too much. I would have preferred a nice high ponytail, or her hair just down and wavy. Usually Lea gets it right, Blegh.
The Critics Choice Awards, which I think is watched even less, also brought us some great fashion- most notably Emma Stone! Emma looked AMAZE in this green Jason Wu delight. The look was gorgeous, effortless grecian beauty, my favorite! Emma won Best Dressed for me!
