Planning Our Trip To Arizona!

I am super thankful for this blog, I get tons of travel tips, ideas, and inspiration! Planning a trip is always a fun activity. I am big into planning ahead of time, so I usually have most activities booked and picked out before I leave. Once we started planning our trip to Vegas and Arizona, a ton of people, through this blog and otherwise, started telling me I HAD to check out Sedona! Now i am really excited to add Sedona to our trip!! Thanks, all!!

This is turning into quite the road trip. Short of driving our car from NJ to the Outerbanks this year, Jim and I have never been on a road trip together, so this should be veryyyy interesting!!!

We are leaving in less than one month! I’m not sure what we are going to be up to in Las Vegas, it will be pretty cold. Since it will be such a long week, I am not looking to spend a lot of money doing activities like expensive shows! I am tempted to see a burlesque-show girl show while there, because last time we were in Las Vegas, the only show we saw was ‘O’ by Cirque Du Soliel. Cirque shows are wonderful, but usually relatively expensive. There are a few booths in Las Vegas that sell last minute show tickets, so perhaps we will get some tickets there. My one regret the last time we were in Vegas was not seeing Cher at Caesar’s, I don’t know what I was thinking! Unfortunately, she isn’t there anymore though, and I don’t have the same desire to see Celine!

On our way to visit Jim’s friend, who lives in Tuscon, we will be stopping at the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and then driving through Sedona and Phoenix!

I have not decided if we will be sleeping overnight in the Grand Canyon or Sedona, I think we might decide when we get there. I was surprised to find out that there really isn’t many hotels around the Grand Canyon. You have a sparse choice of four or five hotels, most of them Best Western, Howard Johnson, and one boutique hotel. I was not in love with the options.

Sedona is suppose to be absolutely beautiful to drive through, and is considered a ‘spiritual vortex‘, which was super interesting! Supposedly the area has some spiritual energy where people go to meditate, pray, or for healing. In Sedona there are suppose to be beautiful red rock formations and gorgeous sunsets. I can’t wait to check it out!!

Thanks everyone for the tips, you’re already making my trip better! Are you going anywhere over winter break, or for Christmas?
