Fashion Friday: Marchesa Spring Runway 2012

Runway boggles my mind. The whole this fall’s runway is next spring’s collection thing, and what we see in the magazine was last year’s fall 2011 runway is too god damn complicated, not going to lie. However, a bunch of runway collections caught my eye this year, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, all were absolutely stunning. Among my favorites was also Marchesa, a stunning show and the first for the company!

Marchesa, run by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, is a huge hit at the Oscars, women are constantly walking the red carpet wearing beautiful Marchesa concoctions that are flowey and feminine. I can always tell when it is Marchesa, which I find is also really similar to Elie Saab’s work.

This year Marchesa put out a stunning runway show not unlike their usual look: feminine and fun! The inspiration was sea life, and the gowns were meant to illustrate jellyfish and tentacles, but it translated beautifully.

The show was held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, and the hotel is a beautiful backdrop for the runway show. It was a sea of organza, feathers, sequins and I loooooove it.

I literally cannot tear my eyes away from these images!!

Do you love? Or do you love? I am drooling right now.
